
“The 24th IPMA World Congress - Challenges and Oppertunities” was held in Istanbul, Turkey, between 1-3 November, 2010. In this annual international event, total of eleven PMAN members, including national president Mr. Tikajit Rai, General Secretary, Mr. Suraj Dahal, and PMAN Young Crew members represented Nepal. The event was the provider of a valuable opportunity for sharing information, knowledge and experience in PM. During the event, PMAN also signed MoU for establishment of Certification Board in Nepal; received confirmation for next year's June ExBo meeting and; set a stage to start off IPMA international project excellence award training. Project Management Association of Nepal (PMAN), has completed Project Management Foundation Training in Kathmandu, Nepal in April 2 - 3, 2011. The two-day training was targeted for project managers, project management practitioners and those who are interested in the field of project management. The course curricula included history and objectives of IPMA and PMI; introduction of PMBOK®4 and ICB3.0 and their respective 42 process groups and 46 competence elements; and IPMA 4-L-C certifications criteria, process and requirements.
Projects in Nepal, as everywhere else, have been planned and implemented since time immemorial. However, their systematic and scientific management have only recently started to become industry standard for organizations that want to summit and stay on the top. Considering the progress of our neighboring countries, namely India and China - not considering the development of the project management profession in much developed nationals of the west - we have only begun to scratch the surface.
Mr. Prabesh Aryal, Ex-Officio Board Member of PMAN, represented Nepal in this national event. Mr. Aryal, who is also PMAN representative for Asia Pacific Forum for PM (APFPM), represented both in the conference and the APFPM meeting. PMAN has been playing an active role in website development of APFPM, excellence awards standard development and other regional activities.
The Project Excellence Model is the assessment tool that is being used by the International Project Management Association to award, annually at its World Congress, the best of the best project teams for their excellent management processes and results.

For the first time in Nepal, a PMAN, in association with Management Association Nepal (MAN) organized a Project Management workshop at Hotel Manaslu, Lazimpat, Kathmandu, from 15th till 20th September, 2010. This event was also International Project Management Association's (IPMA) first ever Coaching for Development (C4D) workshop on how PM Young Crew are to help developing and under developing countries will be a historic event.

The Australian Institute of Project Management extends an invitation to all PM practitioners and enthusiasts to join and participate in the 2010 AIPM National Conference to be held in Darwin from 10-13 October 2010.
IPMA Young Crew organized a Coaching for Development workshop that transferred PM knowledge and skills. One of the first activities of PMAN in 2009, although small group, the program was successful.
